The exhibition «Personal Choice: Collectors’ selections from their own collections» organized by Garage Centre for Contemporary Culture offered a glimpse into the mind of today’s art collector in Russia.Prominent collectors from various backgrounds presented one artwork from their collections and gave an insight into the reasons behind their choice.
The exhibition space was designed to recall to an art storage facility. The works are hung on metal mesh constructions, similar to the moveable structures used in museum and gallery storage rooms.

Collecting and patronage in Russia have a long tradition. Collections of such great patrons as Shchukin and Morozov, Tretyakov, laid the foundations of the largest museums in the country
