\u041eur proposal for the landscaping of\u00a0a\u00a0residential development just outside of\u00a0Moscow aimed to\u00a0capitalize on\u00a0the stronger aspects of\u00a0the urban plan while offsetting its weaknesses. The narrow footpaths and dense network of\u00a0roads were transformed into lush flowering promenades, the sense of\u00a0place and community was enhanced by\u00a0diversifying environments, green areas with social functions were created at\u00a0the centre of\u00a0the development.<\/p>
The grid of\u00a0houses is\u00a0traversed by\u00a0a\u00a0wide promenade, which becomes the central pedestrian thoroughfare through the area. The paving pattern changes along this route, interrupted by\u00a0squares and flowerbeds, recreational areas and playgrounds. Changing patterns in\u00a0the paving break up\u00a0the plan into distinguishable zones, becoming a\u00a0system of\u00a0navigation.<\/p>
While the typological plan and repetitive architecture diminish individual identity, the landscaping offers future home owners the choice of\u00a0living next to\u00a0a\u00a0quiet green alley, or\u00a0have views onto an\u00a0aromatic pine forest. Thus each house is distinguished its own landscaping and pathway pattern.<\/p>
