Cultural Resource

FORM and Art-Management collaborated on a research project concerning the future of the art quarter in St Petersburg. Prior to choosing contemporary art as the main direction for the future of this project, it was necessary to explore the context, understand potential competitors, and to determine a unique vector of development. The work was separated into several stages: a study of art activities following the example of major cultural capitals, local experience (which includes the dynamics of development before and after the economic crisis), a comparative analysis of international and local experience of art institutions, the city context, and competitive environment of St Petersburg, a technical brief and strategic recommendations.
