Art of spending time

The exhibition is divided into 12 segments and follows a principle of dialogue between mechanisms and works of art. 11 rooms house 12 mechanisms from the collection of the Polytechnic museum, ranging from sun dials and hour glasses to chess timers and pendulum clocks, demonstrate a rational perception; the physics of measuring time. Around these machines, a completely different world unfolds, a world of decidedly subjective perceptions of time. The exhibition ‘Art of spending time’ is an exploration of the phenomenon of time through the medium of contemporary art.
